The new curriculum and assessment system for Renal Medicine has now been approved by the GMC.

The next important step is to ensure the effective implementation of the specialty curricula and to support Programme Directors and Educational Supervisors as they use these curricula on a daily basis.

The Education Department in partnership with the SAC in Renal Medicine is offering a new workshop on curriculum implementation and workplace-based assessment. This workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of the curriculum for your particular specialty, guidance on the range of new workplace-based assessments, and practical support on delivery of your assessment system, including requirements for the ARCP. It will also address how best to implement the leadership and common competencies.

The workshops will provide an ideal opportunity for participants to discuss issues related to local implementation of the curriculum and use of the new assessments, thereby helping to ensure consistency of delivery of the curriculum by Local Education Providers.
